This page covers a library I wrote after I figured out the file format used by the PowerTab Guitar Tablature editor. It includes a library that can be used for accessing such files, a utility that can convert .ptb files to Lilypond files and a utility that convert .ptb files to ASCII.
Debian packages are now available as well. Try the following line(s) in /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://samba.org/~jelmer/debian/ unstable/ deb-src http://samba.org/~jelmer/debian/ unstable/
The latest and greatest versions of ptabtools can always be found in the bazaar branches at http://people.samba.org/bzr/jelmer/ptabtools/trunk.
You can retrieve a branch by running something like:
bzr get http://people.samba.org/bzr/jelmer/ptabtools/trunk
(for the stable branch)
